Ju Ju Beane Boutique Presents Hand-crafted Jewelry and Children’s Accessories from Lily Pottery

Ju Ju Beane Boutique actively partners with independent designers to bring their unique crafts to the wider marketplace while offering our customers access to artisan-designed high quality custom apparel, gifts, décor and furniture. A recent collaboration between myself and Lisa Bacon, owner/designer of Girl Indie, a blog created to help promote and support women-owned independent business; hatched the idea for a new contest to showcase independent designers.

This June, Lisa and her team created an exciting opportunity, The Designer Chick Contest, for designers to submit their crafts in one of four categories, For Mom, Baby Gear, Children's Accessories and Children's Clothing. The winner of each category then competed for a grand prize package which included web design, interviews, free advertising and promotions created to help take the lucky winner’s small business to the next level.

According to Lisa Bacon, owner/designer of Girl Indie, “"One of the goals at Girl Indie is working to keep the tradition of handmade quality items from getting lost among the big name brands. We wanted to hold a contest that spotlights indie designers and their handmade goods and that is how the 1st Annual Designer Chick Contest was born. We wanted to offer prizes that would benefit these small businesses so we sought out some fabulous sponsors that were willing to help. This years Grand Prize winner was Lily Stratton (Lily Pottery) with an entry in the Accessories category. I think the readers (voters) really responded to her handmade clippies, which include porcelain hand stamped buttons that she makes herself."

The Ju Ju Beane Boutique is proud to have been a sponsor of the Designer Chick Contest and will be featuring Lily Pottery as a premier jeweler and artisan for the next quarter. Based in Greenville South Carolina, Lily Pottery grew out of the combination of clay, art, and an artist’s dream. Lily’s pottery is a combination of wheel thrown and hand built using stoneware and porcelain clays. “Unique, earthy, elegantly simple…Lily Pottery reflects the artist’s commitment to exceptional work.” Each wearable piece of art is hand-crafted using one-of-a-kind stamps and customized glazes designed by the artist herself.
